Vaccinated Mice Reject Established Tumors

The vaccine is made up of fusion cells (FC) created by combining the nuclei of carcinoma cells and dendritic cells. Dendritic cells (DC) are the body's chief antigen-presenting cell (APC) for generating cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) immune responses.
"A DC fusion cell vaccine can reverse unresponsiveness to a tumor-associated antigen and induce the rejection of established metastases," wrote Jianlin Gong of Harvard's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, Massachusetts, and colleagues.
