"Therapeutic Uses of Immunization."

According to an abstract submitted by the author to the American Liver Foundation, Hepatitis B Transplant Symposium, held June 12-14, 1998, "Universal immunization of all neonates is now standard of care in the United States and many other countries with catch-up immunization for adolescents. However, there are still a large number of patients with chronic hepatitis B who have not decreased in spite of the availability of vaccines for two decades. This is in part because adults are less willing to be vaccinated and neonatal childhood vaccination is relatively new.
