"Long-Term Survival after HIV Infection in Hepatitis B Vaccine Cohorts in Amsterdam, New York and San Francisco, 1978-96."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 12th World AIDS Conference, held June 28 - July 3, 1998, in Geneva, Switzerland, "Background: Information on long-term survival after HIV infection is important for understanding the natural history of HIV infection and disease progression, as well as, providing data for modeling the epidemic and planning health resources. We investigated survival up to 18 years after HIV seroconversion in homosexual men participating in three hepatitis B vaccine cohorts in Amsterdam, New York City and San Francisco. Death was chosen as endpoint because a variety of changes over time which may have affected the time to AIDS. ...
