"A Polytope Vaccine Strategy for the Co-Delivery of Multiple HIV CD8+ Cytotoxic T Cells Epitopes."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 12th World AIDS Conference, held June 28 - July 3, 1998, in Geneva, Switzerland, "Background: There is now a considerable body of compelling indirect evidence that CD8 alpha/beta cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) have a role in preventing or limiting (or even clearing) initial HIV infection and/or progression to AIDS. An ideal HIV CTL based vaccine would need to be able to effectively co-deliver a large number of CTL epitopes to cover (i) multiple epitope variants, (ii) epitopes from different antigens, and (iii) the HLA diversity of a target population.
