Minnesotans Urged To Get Lyme Disease Vaccine

Minnesotans planning to spend time outdoors this summer can now get the Lyme disease vaccine.

So far, people haven't rushed to get the vaccine against the tick-borne disease, but medical professionals think it's just a matter of time.

"People here know about Lyme disease," said Dr. Joseph Alfano, Park Nicollet Clinic in suburban St. Louis Park, near Minneapolis. "They fear Lyme disease. They'll be calling [about receiving the vaccine]."
