Results of Novel HIV Test Published

IGEN International, Inc., Gaithersburg, Maryland, announced that Amsterdam Medical Centre (AMC) in The Netherlands published data in the January 1999 issue of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology on a novel HIV test developed in collaboration with IGEN and based on the company's proprietary Origen technology.

The test, targeting the p7 protein found on the HIV type 1 virus, has the potential to replace existing methods of diagnosis and determining the effectiveness of new AIDS vaccines and therapies - offering better accuracy and efficiency at substantially reduced cost.
