"Identification of Class II-Restricted Melanoma Antigen in a Long-Lived Patient with Melanoma: Implication in Terms of Vaccine Strategies."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 60th Annual Meeting of the Society for Investigative Dermatology, held May 5-9, 1999, in Chicago, Illinois, "Many MHC Class I melanoma antigens recognized by CD8+ T cells have been reported but few MHC Class II-restricted epitopes recognized by CD4+ T cells have been so far identified. These epitopes are of critical interest given recent reports suggesting that CD8+ CTL activity is observed in vivo only in the presence of CD4+ T-cell help.
