"Pockets" of Measles Susceptibility Still Exist

Universal vaccination means that measles has been almost eliminated in the Unites States, but there are still "pockets" of susceptibility, a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report finds.

Researcher S.S. Hutchins and colleagues sought to identify these pockets in a recent study. Their findings were reported at the 127th Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association (APHA), held November 7-11, 1999, in Chicago, Illinois.
