GMCSF Administration Enhances DNA Malaria Vaccine in Certain Conditions

Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) enhanced the antimalarial immune response of a DNA vaccine only when it was admixed and administered concurrently, researchers from the United States reported.

"Plasmid encoding murine GM-CSF (pGM-CSF) enhances the protection of the malaria DNA vaccine encoding the Plasmodium yoelii circumsporozoite protein (pPyCSP)," reported W.R. Weiss et al.
