IAVI Issues Blueprint to Assure Global Access

The development pipeline for AIDS vaccines was virtually empty two years ago. Today, there are promising products in development but still no plan to get any useful vaccine to the most affected communities in the world.

The International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) issued on July 9, 2000, at the 13th International AIDS Conference a detailed working agenda for what must happen over the next five years to make an AIDS vaccine available to those at highest risk of getting the disease.
