Photoimmunotherapy Targets Hepatic Metastases with Antibody

Researchers in the United States and Italy have developed a photoimmunotherapy protocol that targets hepatic metastases using a monoclonal antibody (MAb).

"Photoimmunotherapy (using a MAb-targeted photosensitizer and red light) may be a strategy to overcome the limitations inherent in photodynamic therapy of liver tumors," reported M.R. Hamblin and colleagues from several institutions in the United States and Italy.
