Electricity Increases Strength of DNA-Based Hepatitis C Vaccine

Low voltage pulses of electricity appear to increase the strength of an experimental hepatitis C vaccine more than 10-fold.

Researchers from Italy and Merck Research Labs reported their results in the December 2000 issue of the Journal of Virology ("Enhancing B- and T-cell immune response to a hepatitis C virus E2 DNA vaccine by intramuscular electrical gene transfer," J Virol, 2000;74:11598-11607).
