Vaccine Against Group A Strep Infections Approved For Phase I/II Clinical Trial

ID Biomedical Corp. announced on March 21, 2001, that it has been granted permission by the Therapeutic Products Program of Health Canada to conduct a Phase I/II clinical trial of StreptAvaxTM, a vaccine for the prevention of infections caused by group A Streptococcus. StreptAvax is the only vaccine of its kind being tested in human clinical trials. It is a multivalent recombinant vaccine developed to cover 26 serotypes of group A Streptococcus.
