Intestinal Worms May Lower Efficacy Of BCG Vaccine

Infestation with helminth worms appears to lower immune response to the purified protein derivative (PPD) test, said D. Elias and colleagues working in Sweden. People with helminth infection were randomized to receive treatment with albendazole or placebo.
