Simultaneous Vaccination Against DTP, Hib Is Safe And Effective

Saltmarsh, staff medical writer - Researchers working in Thailand have determined that vaccinating children with combined diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine and Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccine (PRP-T) is just as safe and effective as giving the two vaccines separately.

S. Lolekha and colleagues randomized 126 infants to receive either the combined vaccine or separate administration at the same time at two, four, and six months of age. Their findings were published in the Journal of Tropical Pediatrics.
