Thousands of Canadians seek vaccinations after potential exposure from food worker

The Vancouver coastal health authority was overwhelmed by thousands of people lining up for inoculations following possible exposure to the potentially fatal hepatitis A virus at Capers grocery stores.

The problem originated with a Capers food preparer who has been diagnosed with the hepatitis A virus.

Public health officials issued a warning saying anyone who bought Capers'-brand salad dressing, barbecue sauce or peanut sauce in March 2002 at any of the company's three Greater Vancouver stores should throw those products away.
