Carbohydrate-based particles are better adjuvant than alum for allergy vaccines

Essig, MS, ELS, senior medical writer - Carbohydrate-based particles (CBP) acted as an effective adjuvant for the major timothy grass pollen allergen without causing the granulomatous tissue reaction produced by the commonly used adjuvant, alum, according to a report in the journal, Immunology.
