Lactide-polyethylene glycol copolymers microspheres offer slow antigen release

Essig, MS, ELS, senior medical writer - Helicobacter pylori lysates encapsulated in microspheres of poly (D,L-lactide)-polyethylene glycol copolymer (PELA) stimulated a significant antigen-specific mucosal immune response in mice, according to a report in the World Journal of Gastroenterology.

"Helicobacter pylori (Hp) is a major pathogen causing type B gastritis, peptic ulcer, and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue gastric lymphoma," said Jian-Min Ren and colleagues at the Third Military Medical University in Chongqing, China.
