Poor uptake of influenza vaccinations has been reported in patients receiving cytotoxic chemotherapy.

According to published research from England, "This audit was designed to assess whether existing U.K. vaccination programs mean that patients receiving chemotherapy are being vaccinated against influenza."

"One hundred and ten adult patients receiving chemotherapy at a south London tertiary referral center were interviewed when they attended for their chemotherapy," reported Alistair Ring and collaborators at Royal Marsden Hospital and Guy's Hospital in London.
