Researchers have developed a synthetic conjugate polysaccharide vaccine against Haemophilus influenzae type b. "Glycoconjugate vaccines provide effective prophylaxis against bacterial infections. To date, however, no commercial vaccine has been available in which the key carbohydrate antigens are produced synthetically.
