Recipients of candidate human immunodeficiency virus type 1 vaccines exhibit long-term memory B-cell responses. "The efficacy and practical application of human immunodeficiency virus type I (HIV-1) vaccines may depend in part on the longevity of the immune responses generated, particularly those in the memory compartment.
