According to a study from England and Austria, "The present investigation describes for the first time the effect of an avian metapneumovirus vaccine administered in ovo to 18-day-old chicken embryos. The application of the vaccine had no adverse effect on the hatchability or the health of the chicks post hatch. The antibody titers achieved were higher than those determined for birds vaccinated at 1 day old."
