HIV/AIDS pathogenesis research advances have been reported from the United States and Canada.

Study 1: HIV-1 catalytic core domain residues are important for HIV-1 replication and integration.

According to a study from the United States, "The catalytic core domain (CCD) of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) integrase (IN) harbors the enzyme active site and binds viral and chromosomal DNA during integration.
