Chlamydia trachomatis major outer membrane protein induces partial protection

In a recent report, researchers in the United States reported that a major outer membrane protein of Chlamydia trachomatis induces partial protection in a mouse model against a genital challenge.

"To test several vaccines for C. trachomatis we vaccinated BALB/c and C3H/HeN female mice with a purified preparation of the native mouse pneumonitis (MoPn) major outer membrane protein (MOMP)," wrote S. Pal and colleagues of the University of California, Irvine.
