Researchers' findings from Netherlands, Austria and United States advance cancer treatment research

Investigators in Netherlands, Austria and United States have published new cancer treatment data.

Study 1: Researchers have identified tumor-specific promoters for adenoviral gene therapy of cholangiocarcinoma.

"The majority of cholangiocarcinoma patients present with advanced incurable disease. Therefore development of new therapeutic modalities including adenoviral gene therapy is of paramount importance. We set out to identify tumor specific promoters which have low activity in human liver cells and retain their specificity in an adenoviral vector," scientists in the Netherlands report.
