Encephalitis research advances have been reported from India, the United Kingdom and Japan. Study 1: According to research from India, immunization with recombinant adenovirus (RAd) synthesizing the secretory form of the Japanese encephalitis virus envelope protein protects adenovirus-exposed mice against lethal encephalitis. "Replication-defective RAds were constructed that synthesized the pre-membrane and envelope (E) proteins of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV).
