Research from South Korea and United States in imaging provides new insights

Reports from South Korea and United States highlight recent research in imaging.

Study 1: According to recently published research from South Korea, gene expression can be imaged using firefly luciferase (Fluc) as a naked DNA.

"The administration of naked DNA into animals is increasing as a research tool to develop DNA vaccine. To monitor the distribution and duration of gene expression of a DNA vaccine in living organisms, we used the naked DNA encoding Fluc as an imaging reporter gene, and evaluated in vivo bioluminescent images in a murine model," wrote Y.H. Jeon and colleagues, Seoul National University.
