Wuhan University, College of Life Sciences details research in HIV/AIDS

A report, "Conformation of trimeric envelope glycoproteins: the CD4-dependent membrane fusion mechanism of HIV-1," is newly published data in Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics. "The HIV-1 envelope glycoproteins are assembled by the trimeric gp120s and gp41s proteins. The gp120 binds sequentially to CD4 and coreceptor for initiating virus entry," scientists writing in the Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics report.
