A new study, 'Effect of genomic variation in the challenge virus on the neutralization titres of recipients of inactivated JE vaccines--report of a collaborative study on PRNT50 assays for Japanese encephalitis virus (JE) antibodies,' is now available. "Japanese encephalitis (JE) viruses are grouped into four genotypes. Although currently available vaccines are derived only from viruses in genotype III, vaccines are known to protect against naturally occurring strains," scientists in Potters Bar, the United Kingdom report.
