Beacon Council Announces that BD Commits more than $20 Million for New Manufacturing Facility in Miami-Dade

The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County's official economic development partnership, is pleased to announce that BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a leading global medical technology company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, plans to open a new BD Biosciences manufacturing facility in Miami-Dade County. The new facility will produce cell culture media supplements that are used in the production of vaccines and biopharmaceuticals. To accommodate its needs, BD will invest more than $20 million in renovating 90,000 square feet at the former IVAX Pharmaceuticals building in North Miami. The new manufacturing operation is expected to create 75 high-paying jobs...
