Investigators at University of Alabama, Department of Medicine release new data on gonorrhea genetics

Fresh data on gonorrhea are presented in the report 'Immunogenetic correlates of Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection in adolescents.' According to recent research from the United States, "Understanding host factors modulating immunity to Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection may benefit work on vaccine development. We analyzed longitudinal data collected from 485 male and female adolescents to determine genetic correlates of genital gonorrhea."
