Reports outline HIV/AIDS vaccines study results from Karolinska Institut

New investigation results, 'B cell immunopathology during HIV-1 infection: lessons to learn for HIV-1 vaccine design,' are detailed in a study published in Vaccine. "Induction of broad HIV-1 neutralizing antibodies should be a major goal of an effective HIV-1 vaccine. However, B cells are severely damaged during HIV-1 infection with loss of memory B cells and decline of serological memory," scientists in Stockholm, Sweden report.
