According to recent research from Scotland, "Whole-genome sequences of Plasmodium spp. have helped redefine malaria research, including initiatives that seek to develop drugs, vaccines, and other antimalarial therapies." "The problems caused by malaria were brought to the public's attention once more on World Malaria Day (April 25)," wrote A.P. Waters and colleagues, University of Glasgow.
