Akorn Reports Second Quarter 2008 Financial Results

Total revenue for the second quarter 2008 was $21.2 million, versus $11.6 million in the second quarter 2007, and represents an increase of approximately 82%. Sequentially, second quarter 2008 revenues increased by $6.8 million or 47% versus the first quarter 2008. Ophthalmic business segment revenues totaled $4.3 million, an increase of 10% versus the prior year period.
