Research from Z.Y. Xu and colleagues provide new insights into hepatitis A virus

According to recent research from Seoul, South Korea, "The objective of the study was to identify the protective factors for the rapid decline in the risk of hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection in China between 1990 and 2006."

"Results of serological follow-up and data on annual hepatitis A incidence were analysed and correlated with economic growth and HAV vaccine output during the same period. both HAV vaccination and changing lifestyles associated with the booming economy contributed to the rapid risk decline," wrote Z.Y. Xu and colleagues.
