Current study results from the report, 'Pneumococcal vaccination in older adults induces antibodies with low opsonic capacity and reduced antibody potency,' have been published. According to a study from the United States, "The primary mode of prevention of adult disease from Streptococcus pneumoniae is vaccination with anti-capsular polysaccharide vaccine; however, its effects are less in the targeted older population than in young persons.
