Researchers from Trinity College detail new studies and findings in the area of enzyme research

"Many currently used and candidate vaccine adjuvants are particulate in nature, but their mechanism of action is not well understood. Here, we show that particulate adjuvants, including biodegradable poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLG) and polystyrene microparticles, dramatically enhance secretion of interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) by dendritic cells (DCs)," investigators in Dublin, Ireland report.
