New investigation results, 'Caseinolytic protease: a protein vaccine which could elicit serotype-independent protection against invasive pneumococcal infection,' are detailed in a study published in Clinical & Experimental Immunology. "Invasive pneumococcal diseases incur significant mortality, morbidity and economic costs. The most effective strategy currently available to reduce the burden of these diseases is vaccination," scientists writing in the journal Clinical & Experimental Immunology report.
