Study results from Karolinska Institut update understanding of cancer vaccines

2010 DEC 15 -- Data detailed in 'Fc'R polymorphisms and clinical outcome in colorectal cancer patients receiving passive or active antibody treatment' have been presented. According to recent research from Stockholm, Sweden, "Fc' receptors (Fc'Rs) on effector cells are of importance for mediating antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Fc'RIIIa158valine (V)/phenylalanine (F) and Fc'RIIa131histidine (H)/arginine® polymorphisms have been shown to relate to prognosis in antibody-treated patients."
