Researchers at Wuhan University, College of Life Sciences Publish New Data on Hepatitis C Virus

2011 JAN 26 -- Research findings, 'A new natural a-helical peptide from the venom of the scorpion Heterometrus petersii kills HCV,' are discussed in a new report. According to recent research from Wuhan, People's Republic of China, "Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a major cause of chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. There is no vaccine available for HCV, and almost half of patients cannot be cured using standard combination therapy."
