Practicing Clinicians Exchange Continues Its Partnership With the CDC to Provide Immunization Education to NPs and PAs

2011 APR 13 -- For the third consecutive year, Practicing Clinicians Exchange (PCE) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are partnering to provide continuing education programs on immunization to nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) across the United States.

With the US population aging, an influx of newly insured Americans, and fewer physicians practicing primary care, NPs and PAs are increasingly filling the gaps in primary care delivery. This has led to a tipping point, with NPs and PAs numbering over 240,000 collectively, and increasing by more than 12,000 every year.
