Research from Seoul National University College of Medicine Provide New Insights into Herpes Virus Vaccines

2011 JUL 6 -- Investigators publish new data in the report "Genotype of varicella-zoster virus isolates in South Korea." According to the authors of recent research from Seoul, South Korea, "Information about the genotype of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) is useful to monitor outbreaks of vaccine strains. However, in South Korea, where varicella vaccine was introduced in 1988, there are limited data about the genotype of VZV."
