Researchers from Mahidol University Provide Details of New Studies and Findings in the Area of Alzheimer Vaccines

2011 AUG 31 -- New research, "Activation of the a-secretase processing of AßPP as a therapeutic approach in Alzheimer's disease," is the subject of a report. "Alzheimer's disease (AD) is by far the main cause of dementia in the aged population. Because the amyloid-ß peptide (Aß) is the main component of senile plaques that develop in the brain of affected patients, numerous studies aimed at preventing its production or aggregation were conducted during the past 25 years," investigators in Nakorn Panom, Thailand report.
