2012 JAN 25 -- A new study, "Revisiting the influenza vaccine," is now available. "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared the decline in preventable diseases through vaccination to be 1 of the 10 great public health achievements in the past decade in the United States. Still, influenza epidemics occur every year in the United States and are associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality," investigators in Memphis, Tennessee report.
