2012 MAY 9 -- "The control and elimination of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) represent two of the most challenging tasks facing the pig industry worldwide. Several factors related to the biology of the virus make disease detection and elimination difficult," scientists in St. Paul, Minnesota report.

"Efforts are further hampered by the lack of vaccines that can protect naive herds from infection.
