New findings from Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center describe advances in Epstein-Barr virus

Current study results from the report, "Epstein-Barr virus lytic infection induces retinoic acid-responsive genes through induction of a retinol-metabolizing enzyme, DHRS9," have been published. According to a study from the United States, "Lytic Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) replication occurs in differentiated, but not undifferentiated, epithelial cells. Retinoic acid (RA) induces epithelial cell differentiation."
