New investigation results, "Validation of laboratory screening criteria for herpes simplex virus testing of cerebrospinal fluid," are detailed in a study published in Journal of Clinical Microbiology. According to a study from the United States, "Most patients with herpes simplex virus (HSV) central nervous system (CNS) infection have abnormal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) indices.
