Partial-breast radiotherapy after conservative surgery linked to higher recurrence risk

Compared to whole-breast irradiation, partial-breast radiotherapy after local tumor excision and axillary dissection has been linked to heightened recurrence risk. "Whole-breast radiotherapy (WBRT) after conservative surgery for early breast cancer is a routine standard of care," oncologists in England explained.
