Abbott gets sublicense for use of PlGF in diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases

Dade Behring, Inc., (DADE), a clinical diagnostics company, has granted a nonexclusive sublicense to Abbott for the worldwide rights for the use of the emerging cardiac marker placental growth factor (PlGF), for further development of tests for the diagnosis and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases. Studies show levels of PlGF may be useful in the prognosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), a heart condition that impacts millions of people worldwide. By offering rights to this emerging cardiac marker to Abbott, its availability can be expanded to a larger spectrum of global healthcare providers.
