Which Mothers Experience Early Postpartum Discharge?

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 122nd Annual Meeting of the American Association of Public Health, held October 30 - November 3, 1994, in Washington, D.C., "The duration of hospitalization after birth has declined markedly in recent years. Although professionals have issued guidelines for early discharge, the extent to which these are followed remains unexplored. If guidelines are followed, risk factors in the mothers and infants discharged early (2 days or less) should differ from those discharged at 3 days.
